Following the break up of Dishonourable Discharge, Gab and Jeremy were left without a band. One afternoon Jeremy built the very first hot air balloon that ran exclusively on second hand smoke. After a long day of flying around in a hot air balloon with Gab, they decided that they needed a soundtrack for future adventures. This decision is what led to the creation of "Revenge Of The Mormons". Their first jam was recorded using a really shitty computer headset and became their first with only one track that had 8 songs on it. The Album was entitled "Welcome to High St." and only two copies of the recordings exist. This album has the first renditions of "I ain't got $2.25", "Steven Harper" (which was originally somewhat written with Dishonourable Discharge), "I Wanna Get High" and parts of "Marijuana Brothers". When they were done jamming they went upstairs only to meet Satan himself in Gab’s kitchen. He looked at them straight in the eye and said "You are the chosen ones and shall be known from this day forward as Revenge Of The Mormons and Thou shall Change Lives" he then ran out the back door with Gab's toaster and TV, never to be seen again. Having taken his advice, Jeremy changed his name to Captain Mormon, and Gab changed his name to Mormon Freeman.
After the first jam, Captain Mormon went on a 79 day world tour in the hot air balloon changing lives across the world. For his efforts he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Gab completed his PHD in Astro Physics with a minor in bong making to help build improvements on the Hot Air Balloon. Combining their skills they managed to make an even more efficient bong that helped them reach even more extreme altitudes. It was shortly after this that Jeremy and Gab were informed that Ab Irato from Montreal were going to play at Disgraceland and that there weren't any other bands playing. Being fans of Ab Irato's music they decided to make the show the very first Revenge Of The Mormons show, playing a half improvised set. The Set list included such forgettable tracks as Grind Your Weed. They didn't have any of their own equipment and used all of Ab Irato's equipment. Having had their lives pre-maturely changed, Ab Irato told Revenge Of The Mormons that they would open for them. The show was a great success, and was the only show played in the gear room upstairs at Disgraceland.
Following their first show they continued their ever-seeking quest to change lives at the legendary Gate night show. The show went well and this was the first time Revenge Of The Mormons preformed their hit song "Winnipeg Folk Fest". After a three world tours where they played out of the hot air balloon they faced off in their biggest challenge of all time: The Outpost Battle of the bands. Despite having the biggest, drunkest, and loudest crowd by a long shot and completely alienating a bunch of jocks, ROTM only came in third place due to there being a category for guitar solos. In the end Revenge Of The Mormons still won the most money out of everyone and spent the money on improvements on the hot air balloon, and crack. They modified the balloon so it would run on THC vapours exclusively making it much faster, and more efficient. In the spring of 2008 Revenge Of The Mormons were asked to play a girl's super sweet 16th birthday party at a pool hall on Bay street. Many consider this as having been the best Revenge Of The Mormons show ever, though they never received the cake they were promised. In the summer of 2008 Revenge Of The Mormons released their first demo, a split with Dishonourable Discharge. 100 copies of this tape exist. Following the release of their tape the Hot Air Balloon broke down in Wawa, leaving the Mormons stranded. This caused a temporary Hiatus where Mormon Freeman was forced to move to Montreal to compete the new television series "Top Drunk", at the annual Whiskey summit.
