The Mudmen are back, Saturday Oct 17th at The Outpost!

And it s Saint Plaidy's Day!!! So Raise a Pint to You and To Me!!!

Saint Plaidy's Day is a day dedicated to the saint of airfilled bags, various jugs (or juggs) and tall tales of ....

Saint Plaidy as a young man roamed various parlours, listening to The Dubliners amungst others. He spent many years courting Maggie Mae, but alas the lass would never give him the time of day. Plaidy, a lonely man courted Molly Mcquire, but was sent packing again. It is in a dirty old town that Plaidy met his fame. The wild rover spent seven drunken nights until there was no more whiskey in the jar, and then went St Catherine Street in Montreal and he started to play his music. On that magical night a great vision was revealed to him.

As he sit at the Peel, the great Sheep bestowed upon him the gift of the underdog. No longer would he need looks or money or even a vocabulary, he on that night was rendered 'cool' and accepted by everyone at the Peel. He started to play catchy songs, and the bar sang along. This is how St Plaidy s day was started. A day of fun and excitement, where nothing matters but enjoying yourself and those around you!!!

Yes we will be having another 'dress up' contest (because it was soo much fun last time)..

locals needed..

Julia adds...

Yes, St Plaidie's Day...

Don't you know any holiday in October is going to involve dress-up!

Everyone is invited to wear a kilt (if male) or a plaid skirt (if female).
Or a Hockey Jersey, or Mudmen merchandise.

Everyone who shows up in approved holiday gear will be entered in a contest to win valuable prizes and tickets.

Everyone who doesn't show up in approved gear will be entered to win a haggis.

Scotland...where men are men, and sheep are frightened.*

*Please note, Im Scots myself... Do not take offense

First it's St. Plaidy's day, next you'll be seeing a Merry Plaidmas concert.  Everyone enjoying some Christmas dinner to the sounds of the mudmen...

that would be the day.

Chuck asked a great question.. Have you seen The Mudmen?

If you go see them, you ll understand why I will be thrilled and happy to book them everytime they drive through town Cheesy

Very few bands provide such a fun party atmosphere.

Merry Plaidmas huh? I hadn't thought about that, but that might be an idea.. or Plaidentine?  Well, probably not, but I like our little made up holiday..it s supposed to be fun.. You know about fun right? It s what rock and roll is all about!

ANyways, come on saturday night, and discover why the Mudmen have such a loyal and dedicated fan base.
